GIVE. ADVOCATE. VOLUNTEER. United Way of York County strengthens community conditions by bringing people and resources together to effect long-lasting changes that improve lives. We are focused on Bright Beginnings for children birth-age 8, Healthy Foods for children and seniors, Connected Youth, Supportive Services that meet basic needs and Building the Capacity of nonprofits in our area. Annually, United Way of York County manages a community-wide fundraising campaign each fall. Business, their employees and individuals donated more than $1,287,000.00 through United Way of York County in 2015. As an organization, United Way of York County is supported by the time and talents of committee volunteers and staff working together to address our most important issues. The organization convenes a Board of Directors and Campaign Cabinet, Community Review Team, Governance, Finance, Human Resources and Volunteer strategic committees. Likewise, UWYC convenes community members and organizations around the issues that are most important to the people of York County. Volunteerism supports the mission of United Way of York County. Each spring, a community wide Day of Caring is held. More than 1000 volunteers from business and schools provide a priceless day of service to area nonprofits. Volunteers complete more than 100 projects for 40 agencies, contributing more than $110,000.00 worth of labor. That's what it means to LIVE UNITED! Serving York County since 1986.
